East Midlands Freeport will be holding its first public Board meeting on Friday 24 July 2026, from 10am to 11am, at Rushcliffe Borough Council as part of its commitment to engaging with its communities in an open and collaborative way.
The Freeport exists to create long-term economic opportunities across the region through investment, innovation, skills and infrastructure, and is committed to having meaningful engagement with local communities as it delivers that mission.
The public Board meeting is an important step ensuring local people, businesses and stakeholders have opportunities to hear about the Freeport’s work to date, ask questions and understand how decisions are being made.
What to expect
The session will include:
- A welcome from the Chair
- An overview from the Chief Executive on the Freeport’s objectives, achievements and strategic priorities
- Short updates from each of the three “tax site” owners on:
- East Midlands Airport and Gateway Industrial Cluster (EMAGIC)
- East Midlands Intermodal Park (EMIP)
- Ratcliffe-on-Soar Power Station
- A public question and answer session
The meeting will also be available live via Microsoft Teams for those who wish to watch remotely. Click this link to join: Webcast. Online attendees will be able to view the meeting but will not be able to participate.
How to submit a question
For the public question segment of the meeting, we’re asking anyone wishing to raise a question to submit it in advance to ensure we can answer as many questions as possible on the day.
To register your interest and submit a question, please email info@emfreeport.com with your question by Friday 10 July 2026.
If a large number of questions are received, similar ones may be grouped together to ensure as many topics as possible can be covered. However, every question submitted ahead of the deadline will receive a written response in due course whether there is time to discuss it in the meeting itself or not.
Following the meeting, all questions and responses will be published on East Midlands Freeport’s website, ensuring that everyone can access the information and discussions raised.
We look forward to welcoming you on 24 July. To watch the meeting remotely click this link to webcast.
